SomOne Music

Studio & label - Senegalese coast

Music has no borders, but it needs places. Places where artists meet, create, and pass on what they know.

SomOne Music is an independent label co-founded with Natty Jean. Two bases, one vision: building bridges between artists from around the world, under the baobabs. SomOne Music is also a registered nonprofit (loi 1901) in France.

Natty Jean

Bamako, 2007. I had set up a makeshift studio in my NGO room. Natty Jean came by, and we recorded his first rough demos on whatever gear we had. I was one of the first to believe in him, to back him up.

Since then, nearly twenty years of friendship, thousands of miles travelled together, and a shared conviction: music is a tool for transformation. SomOne Music is the natural outcome of that journey.

Beyond the label, I also compose my own tracks. Instrumentals, beats, songs — the sonic notebook of the Baobab Man.
